- Hans De Winter, PhD

Hans De Winter graduated as a pharmacist from the K.U.Leuven in 1986. In 1992 he obtained the title of Doctor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences. After fulfiling his military service, he stayed for two years in the laboratory of Prof. Mark von Itzstein at the Victorian College of Pharmacy in Melbourne where he specialized in the use of computational methods for drug design. After his return from Australia in 1995, Hans became a post-doctoral scientist in the laboratory of Prof Piet Herdewijn at the REGA institute in Leuven, where he was responsible for setting up a molecular modeling group. In 1996, he joined the Janssen Research Foundation as a Senior Scientist in computational chemistry. He is author of more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific publications, four patents, co-editor of one book on the topic of computational chemistry and drug design.
- Wilfried Langenaeker, PhD

Wilfried Langenaeker graduated as a licentiate in chemistry from the Free University of Brussels in 1989. In 1994, he obtained the title of Doctor in Sciences. He was a postdoctoral Research Fellow of the Fund for Scientific Research 1996 to 1999. He stayed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Prof. Robert Parr, one of the authorities in conceptual quantum chemistry. This stayed was financed by the means of a Fullbright award and a NATO research fellowship. In 1999, he joined the Janssen Research Foundation as a Senior Scientist in computational chemistry. He is author of more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications and co-editor of three books.
- Gert Thijs, PhD

Gert Thijs graduated as an electrical engineer from the K.U.Leuven in 1998. From 2000 till 2003 he was recipient of a research grant from the IWT-Vlaanderen. In 2003, he obtained the title of Doctor in Engineering. In 2004 he became a post-doctoral researcher in the bio-informatics team of Prof. De Moor at the K.U.Leuven. He is author of 15 peer-reviewed scientific publications and one of the lead developers of MotifSampler and INCLUSive, a suite of tools to study gene expression and regulation.
- Ivo Vandeweerd, PhD

A graduate of KU Leuven, Ivo Vandeweerd obtained a PhD with highest distinctions from IMEC. He was a founder and director of Easics NV, a developer of communications circuits, that was sold successfully in 2000. Since then Ivo has been an investor and consultant, involved with a number of high technology start-ups. Prior to the creation of Easics, Ivo worked for Philips in digital audio systems.

Bart De Moor graduated as an electrical engineer from the K.U.Leuven in 1983. In 1988, he obtained the title of Doctor in Engineering. From 1988 till 1990 he stayed at Stanford University in the laboratories of Prof. Kailath and Prof. Golub. In 1992 he stayed at the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications at University of Minnesota. He was a post-doctoral fellow of the Fund for Scientific Research from 1991 to 1999. In 2000 he became a full time professor at the K.U.Leuven where he heads a team of 8 postdocs and 40 PhD students. Bart De Moor is co-founder of 4 spin-off companies. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific papers and is recipient of several awards.
